V-Tread Soles are made with a 1" lift to the heel and a minor platform to the ball of the foot. Ergonomically shaped the be the most comfortable thing you've ever worn hiking, in the rain and mud, or even for work. We don't use aftermarket cheap soles - Ours are custom made and made to last. Lastly, our soft suede ankle panels on Ares and other series boots are our own touch on leather footwear to give ankle flexibility. No more OUCH!! Buy a boot that feels good and won't fail you.
